Alexis Sanchez looks set to leave Arsenal within the next two weeks despite Manchester City appearing to throw his move to the Etihad Stadium into doubt after refusing to pay more than £20m for him this month.
That has alerted Manchester United to the forward’s availability, and a Manchester bidding-war could well be triggered with reports that United will over him around £350,000-a-week in wages to blow City out of the water. Liverpool are also interested in the Chilean, but are currently the outsiders in the hunt for the sought-after 29-year-old.
Jose Mourinho meanwhile is prepared to abandon plans to sign Antoine Griezmann or Gareth Bale in the summer in order to sign Sanchez, with next Friday set to be the deadline for a January move. Arsenal are considering a move for Bordeaux forward Malcom to replace Sanchez, with the Brazilian starring in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Troyes in which he set up the only goal of the game.
RB Leipzig meanwhile claim that Liverpool are yet to contact them over rushing through their planned move for Naby Keita earlier than planned, with the Reds considering a new deal to sign him this month.
